Not sure which area this fits best in. Didn't get a single hit searching the forum for the.

Specifically, looking into how to reprogram the presets in this thing for a buddy of mine. I found a bit of info on the M8 that appears to require opening the radio and removing a jumper to get into 'dealer programming mode'.

Info on this model is extremely sparse, though. Hoping that there may be a cloning cable and software out there for it, but it's sounding like channel setup may actually require EEPROM programming. Anyone familiar with these things?

Edit: found a retailer who states they ARE PC programmable. Doesn't sell the stuff to do it though. Calling info 'extremely sparse' for this thing may be a bit generous. Kayn1n32008 11:42 PM.

Capable of 4 banks of 99 channels. It has been many many years since I programmed a Tad radio. You do need to take off the cover, and short two contacts that were near the from of the radio. Free Download Breakbeat Kota.

There was, as far as I can remember, a 'matrix' of some sort to determine 1, 2, 3 or 4 banks. Decent radio, basic, but decent. NDP 12:12 AM. If you take the top cover off by removing the 4 screws on top and loosening the side mounting screws and take the top off there is a chrome box that is removable.

Once removed there are 6 switches, when looking at them from the front of the radio from right to left the second from the right or I believe its #2 should be pulled towards the front of the radio. After you've done this when you press and hold program button it should go into D prog. You need to enter a 4 digit code to move the numbers you turn the tuning dial to go to the next number you press Pri after you've entered the 4 digit code you hit disp to select.

The dealer sets the code for that i believe using the cloning port and the programming cable. Mine was set to 1234. Let me know if this helped or worked for you. Soundy 11:58 AM.

I would like more info, if possible of all the settings of the 6 switches. The 2 and 1234 worked for the programming. I bought a brand new all pre-programmed 396 Chanel M10.

To function with all banks full I have to set 5,6 switch towards the front, the others to the back, which is why I would like more info on the 6 switches. Is their a TX shutoff within the switches, to obey our countries laws on transmitting. Or should I totally erase by shorting the two solder tabs and start from scratch. Does the shorting erase an eprom chip. Thanks in advance. All times are GMT -5. The time now is 5:33 AM.
