My system: Windows7 x64 (fresh install - so no previous JRE's or JDK's), Firefox 15.0.1 and IE9 I downloaded this: jdk-7u7-windows-x64.exe From this page: [I installed the JDK as per instructions on this page: [I updated the PATH environment variable to include: C: Program Files Java jdk1.7.0_07 bin I restarted the computer. IN Firefox I click 'Install plugin' and it looks like it's installing, but then it fails. It then gives me an option to install it manually (which is a link to the Oracle JRE download page. I did not try that last option because I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO, Oracle's page clearly states [that the JDK INCLUDES the JRE.
If you want to develop Java applications, download the Java Development Kit, or JDK. *The JDK includes the JRE, so you do not have to download both separately.*' Also, it the latest JDK is supposed to come with JavaFX development capabilities, but I don't see JavaFX stuff in any of the Java folders. I have some questions about installing JDK 1.4: 1. After running the executable installation file, you get a src.zip file in the installation directory. Does anyone know what this is? The obvious answer is that it is the library of code for JDK 1.4.
However, I have run programs on Forte Agent without unzipping this file. In previous versions of the JDK, when you decompress the src.jar (it is now a src.zip file in the 1.4 version) file, it creates a src folder and decompresses all the information into that.
However, in JDK 1.4, it does not create a src folder, but rather, decompresses the files into the installation directory. Is this a fault of the new release or should I create a src folder and have the src.zip file decompress into that folder? I am running Windows 2000. I have some questions about installing JDK 1.4: 1. Nothing in the the event logs. What sort of thing do you expect? Executing jdk-7u2-windows-i586.exe installs the Java runtime (JRE) and the Java compiler. After this the file jdk-7u2-windows-i586.exe can be removed.
This will allow you compile and execute Java programs. Does Oracle have a solution for this problem??I think the problem is your expectation. I'm currently testing JBDS 7 on a freshly installed Mac Book Pro running OS X 10.8.5 [I've also tried with Mavericks, with the same result]. In order to install JBDS 7, you need to have java installed in order to run the command: java -jar InstallerFile_for_JBDS7.jar So I downloaded the JDK 7_40 from Oracle and installed it. When I wanted to run JBDS 7 I get a message stating that in order to run I must install JDK 6, at that time OS X offers to download a JDK directly from Apple and after it is installed then I'm able to run JDBS 7.
This behavior is not consistent with the Windows version - If you have JDK 7 installed, you're able to lunch JDBS 7 without issues. Can you guys shed some light to what the dependencies for JDK 6 on OS X for JBDS 7 are? How can I make run directly on JDK 7, without having to install JDK 6.
* As a side note, by installing JDK 6, you get a 32 bit version of Java - that is not present on JDK 7. This allows you to re-install JBDS 7 on OS X and get back the Visual Page Editor by selecting to run JBDS 7 with JDK 6 (32bit).
Regards, Luis. I was able to connect to oracle 8.1.7 by adding ojdbc14.jar to the weblogic classpath. If the weblogic classpath cannot be changed then simple add the above jar to web-inf/lib of your war and also change you weblogic.xml to add: container-descriptor prefer-web-inf-classestrue/prefer-web-inf-classes /container-descriptor This will ensure that the ojdbc14.jar is used to return an instance of Oracle driver from the class loader. Hi guys, I'm having a bit of trouble installing JDK 6 update 11 Windows x64. I previously had some beta of version 10, but I uninstalled all copies of Java before installing this one. Unfortunately, I can't install update 11. I tried installing the JRE separately and that worked, but even then if I try to install the JDK afterwards and deselect the JRE the installation still fails. This is a pretty annoying problem for me. I know I could install the x86 version but I'm leaving that as a last resort, since the x64 builds used to work fine for me.
Hi, We have Brava installed on our current Webtop 5.3 SP2 and the guide says as follows: Brava! Am trying to install jdk 1.4 or jdk1.5 in windows vista for so many times.
But always getting error like this. It first says 'unable to set file time stamp' then flags this error Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Tried installing all jdk versions tried installing by taking new jdk from sun.com too.
Please help in installing the jdk in my s/m. Thanks sanjeev. Hi Vinod, Thanks for the reply.
Actually, we have tried with JDK 1.4.2, sapinst throws error that JDK is not valid for the platform. But, I just read that the windows environment variable PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE is set to AMD64 by default, even if the processor is actually Intel (which is, in our case). So, we will manually set the PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE to IA64 and install JDK 1.4.2 and run SAPINST from IA64 directory. I have a feeling that this will work. Otherwise, I'll be back here. Regards Partha.
Hi, i have tried installing JDK 1.6 from sun.com,and whenever i am trying to install it on my vista home premium OS it is showing the following failures 1)data1.cab is corrupted and u cannot install the JDK,and an error number 1335 is coming on the screen 2)After i clicked ignore its saying that and internal error 2350 has been occured 3)I have cleaned my registry and i have also removed the UAC check box, and even i have used 'Run As Administrator' option for installing the software, but i have not yet been successful. So please help me to solve my problem. Thanks in Advance Raghuveer. They both contain the same JDK of course, the difference being the delivery/install mechanism. The 'RPM' is suitable for linux distributions that use the Redhat Package Manager to install/update executable packages. The file without the rpm 'jdk-6u27-linux-i586.bin' is a self extracting file and is useful for all distributions, especially those that do not use RPM. The install instructions are at the same location where you picked up the install files.
Hi, I am trying to install sun one webserver 6.1 SP5 on my system which has windows XP operating system for the development work. The JDK version i am using is JDK1.6. While installing sun one webserver at step where i can use custom java development kit i am providing path for the JDK1.6 in 'JDK Path' text box as 'C: Java jdk1.6.0_11'. While clicking next it throws me error 'The version of selected JDK is too old'. I don;t have any other version of JDK installed on my system. Can any one tell me what can be the problem here? I think is coming the same case as was before with Java and Microsoft. Where is the WORA philosophy that Sun promised on all platforms including Mac? Sun develop the Windows, Linux and Solaris JDK's but why not the Mac one? Becuase Apple decided to do it that is goofy move IMHO. Please Sun take the control of the JDK on the Mac and please do something about it so we have a bright Java future on the Mac and continue to promise the WORA philosophy. I want JDK 1.6 on the Mac from SUN not Apple.

Will they work? Sir, It is true that the command line to install the JRE do not apply to the JDK. The only solution that I find to install my PCs with the JDK into a specific folder other than the 'C: Program Files ' folder was to install first the JRE then install the JDK. I don't know why but it's works. So I know that I have got a JRE that IE and Fireofx use to run applet and an other JDK (which include the JRE) for development. It is not perfect and it manages my case (JRE available into IE and Fireofx for applet) and a JDK development; both install into d: java folder. That may be can help you.

Hi, I'm assuming that you also installed a 32bit version of Java and the 32bit version comes first in the path. In order to solve this issue you can explicitely point to the 64Bit version of the JDK: Edit the eclipse.ini file in c: intel BeaconMountain ADT eclipse. Add the parameter vm which points to your 64 bit java installation (you might need to adjust the path): -vm C: Program Files Java jdk1.7.0_01 bin javaw.exe The position of the parameter is important. I need JDK which is the above range but for x64.Though I can continue with higher version of JDK but its not recommended. I have looked around but cannot find any JDK in the range mentioned above. I am sure other ppl have installed the solution manager on Windows Server 2008 R2 successfully. Can someone please point or direct me to a link where I can find the x64 JDK which is suitable for the installation.

Step 1: Locate the installation error code. To do this, follow these steps: a.
Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update. On the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click Review your update history. A window opens that shows all the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer. In the Status column of this window, locate the update that failed to install, and then click the red X.
A new window opens that displays the installation error code. Note the error number.
You will have to type or paste the error number in a search box in the next step. Step 2: Follow steps from the article mentioned below. But the customer decide to use Microsoft VM both on server and client sides - they have support contract (for other products) with MS and MS may decide to cancel support if our customer will use Sun JDK and Sun JVM.MS can cancel their support if they use Sun's JDK! That's an 'interesting' clause in your support contract.
So, I have to try to port all project to MS SDK for Java and the question is: Do I have a chance not to rewrite 100% of my code? Somewhere I read: ':I've downloaded the new MS Virtual Machine (msjavx86.exe) that should be compatible to Java2:' - is it really so?I don't believe any versions of Microsoft's JVMs support Java2. Personally, I think it would be a big waste of time to port working Java2 code to JDK 1.1 just to run MS's JVM. -- Rob Does anybody knows if MS will support Java 2 platform specifications? As I found at MS, latest MS JDK 4.0 (on which WLS 5.1 can run) meets specification of Java 1.1 and after installing it I found that I must rewrite about 90% of my code. Can someone clarify the situation with MS JDK? Thanks in advance, Andrey Bogush PS: Any information, links, documents, overviews on how to persuade the customer to use Sun JDK and JVM against MS one are VERY and STRONGLY welcome!!!
Hi experts Installing SOLMAN 7.0 EHP1 on Windows 2003 Server 64-bit OS and x86 processors. Based on the SAP Note:, Solution Manager requires 64-bit platform to get all services available. On 64-bit Solman 7.0 EHP1 installation, it requires only JDK with a minimum version 1.4.2_09 and not equal to or higher than version 5.0. For the JDK version, 1.4.2, it only supports IA 64 processors for windows operating system.
Please i need solution where we can use other Intel processors (like XEON, CORE, etc.) using JAVA JDK on 64-bit MS Windows OS. Hello,We have been installing CF 9.0 to IIS 7 on a new server for the first time. The installation was working fine until we tried to install add-ons such as the CF 9.01 installer or a Java JDK.
After one of these was installed, the CF 9 application server would not start. We got a message saying 'Windows could not start the ColdFusion 9 Application Server on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 2.'
We reviewed the System Event logs and found error logs saying 'The ColdFusion 9 Application Server service terminated with service-specific error They system cannot find the file specified.' The error did not state what file that is.We tried uninstalling and re-installing CF 9.0 a handful of times and then applied either the 9.01 installer or JDK. We continued to get above error message when trying to start services.Has anybody experienced this issue before?
How do you get around it? Thanks.Best regards,Chung Lee. I am not certain if this is the correct forum for posting JDK installation questions (for Windows XP)? If not, please direct me to the correct one.
I would like to install the JDK for the very first time but I noticed that I have at least two versions of the JRE and a few updates for both. Should I uninstall both JRE's and their updates before installing the latest JDK OR do I merely overinstall? I have the following: J2SE Runtime 5.0 Update 10 J2SE Runtime 5.0 Update 11 Java 2 Runtime, SE v1.4.2_01 Java 6 Update 20 Java SE Runtime 6 Update 1 Not sure what the difference between J2SE and Java 6 and whether or not I need both to run applications. Thanks in advance for clearing up my confusion. Probably not the best place to post this, but I am having trouble installing the JDK on my windows (64bit) machine. (from here After it seems like I have downloaded the installer file, I try to run it and nothing happens.
There is no evidence that it is executed at all. I tried to use the installer for netbeans IDE + jdk (jdk-7u4-nb-7_1_2-windows-ml.exe). All of the netbeans stuff is installed fine, but the jdk part fails, but at least this time it lets me know 'Installation of JDK 7 Update 4 was not completed.'
The log files just say there is an exception at org.netbeans.installer.utils.exceptions.InstallationException: JDK installation finished with error code 1. So it has worked fine on my other machine, I am at a loss here. Sorry again that I couldn't figure out where to post this. Hi, I'm installing SAP ECC 6.0 (IDES) with Netweaver 7.0 SAP ERP 6.0 - Microsoft Windows - ORACLE Database when the master installer asked for my JRE and JDK I installed the jre-8-windows-x64.exe and jdk-8-windows-x64.exe directly from Sun website but when I reach the JCE Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files I downloaded the jce_policy-8.zip directly from Sun website (Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files for JDK/JRE 8 Download) but the master installer denied the file, said: The JCE policy files are from the wrong provider. SOLUTION: Download the JCE policy files from Sun what should I do? Clearly the file is really from Sun, but the master installer keep denying my file.
